How to Paint Laminate Kitchen Cupboards
Heres how to paint your laminate kitchen cupboards. Do it right and your paint shouldnt be stripping and peeling after a few months.
You do need to prepare the laminate surfaces well as because of their glossy nature paint does not stick to them well. Wear and tear will mean that the paint will peel off eventually, but careful preparation will mean that the paint will last longer.
First thing you will need to do is give the paint something to stick to. Use sugarsoap to remove all hidden grease. You then need to scratch and rough up the existing laminate so that the paint will adhere, so get a good quality sandpaper and go over the surfaces to be painted as thoroughly as possible especially the high impact surfaces like drawer fronts etc that will get the most wear and tear.
Apply primer and then apply two coats of acrylic paint.
