Golden Crystal Granite Slab
Golden Crystal Granite is a Yellow Granite that is sourced from bedrock quarries in Brazil.
The rich gold tones that can be seen in this granite are produced by water getting deep into the stone over many millions of years.
A similar stone that is available from China is referred to as Wuhan Beige
This introduces small cracks and the minerals in the rocks oxidise in those cracks.
As part of the preparation and polishing process, the surface of each slab is coated with epoxy resin to ensure all cracks and fissures are sealed.
It is generally used for Counter tops and bars, wall and floor tiles.
I really love the look of Golden Crystal Granite used as a backsplash here. Not so keen on it on the island and the backsplash together though.
