Wetrooms are more commonly appearing in the latest bathroom designs. The idea for the wetroom came from Scandinavia, where they had the ingenious idea of taking the swimming pool concept and placing a waterproof membrane beneath wall and floor tiles instead of having a shower tray and partitions. If you have space for one, wet rooms are much more free and open than the ubiquitous shower cubical, the wet room being the bathroom equivalent of the open plan kitchen and lounge.
